Anyway, ptsd isn't really about actual threat, it's about the perceived threat. On top of that I also have one actually life threatening situation where she basically kidnapped me with a car, lying about where we were going, and ending up driving whole day and her having hallucinations at the same time. This happening constantly and her not really getting help messed me up. I've diagnosed as having PTSD and it's due to my mother being psychotic during my youth, emotionally neglecting me, like not reacting to me at all, instead talking to fictional people she was hearing the voices of, getting crazy angry sometimes out of nowhere and destroying things at home, claiming she was being spied on. Not an American (where I live people usually use ICD instead of DSM) but the criteria "life threatening" has always bugged me when talking about PTSD.
